In the spirit of Easter, our colleagues at Plaistow teamed up with the charity Barnardo’s and the labour agency Adecco on an initiative to bring Easter eggs and joy to children in need. Over 50 Easter eggs were generously donated and delivered to children in our East London community. Barnardo’s, a charity founded by Thomas John Barnardo in 1866, has been dedicated to caring for vulnerable children for more than 150 years, and its work continues to significantly improve the lives of countless children and families.

“We are proud of our colleagues for their compassion and willingness to give back to the community, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in making this effort a success,” Sam Barker, senior administrative assistant.

At Thames, colleagues purchased themed Easter Baking Boxes with a £5 charity donation going to our charity partner Community Food Enterprise (CFE) and baked over the Easter weekend submitting photos of their efforts and the fun had along the way. A total of £400, including company match funding, was raised for CFE. CFE, who are based at our Thames Refinery site, work to alleviate food poverty by supplying and distributing surplus food to frontline charities and community organisations in East London.
